The Win95 picture shows why the applet is
almost unusable on this platform. In
addition to the layout problems the colors
don't work (not even in 16M mode), so that
you can't see if a button (a field) is
selected. Furthermore, in the window showing
the query results the clear()-method of
the list showing the table doesn't work
for some reason, so that I can't clear the
window before showing the results of a new
query (i.e. calling list.clear() has no
effect in Win95). Maybe Sun should put more
effort in porting Java. On the (unfortunately)
most important platform Java looks pretty
bad.

If You're looking at this with WinNT, could
You send me a .gif? I'd like to see how the
applet looks like on NT.
UPDATE (12/19/96): I just received a .gif, that
shows the applet on NT (netscape 3.01). Everything looks
fine so far, but I can't verify if the colors work now,
I guess that's not the case(?).

If the background of the .gif is not grey,
your Browser dithered the picture.

June 96: I just tested Netscape 3b5 with Just in Time compiler;
it has LOT'S of bugs, the layout is even worse. However,
Java is significantly faster (still faster on Unix, though).
