Question: can NAT do this???

I have several macs connected through an ethernet. I have a single linux box with a single static IP PPP connection. I wish to connected the macs through the linux box to the net. Since I have only a single IP address, I am assuming to create the series of ip addresses for the macs (and the linux eth0) based on 192.168.x.x

is this the right direction and can I accomplish somthing similar to that of Vicom internet gateway (for the mac) and, is it Winproxy? for the pc?
